A paper that has passed all the steps of the editorial workflow described above is considered to have been approved. In this case, the article will then be edited (a spelling/grammar revision, a bibliographic revision, then on to the editing) and as soon as it is decided which edition the article will appear in, the Editorial Office will enter in contact with the authors to update data and secure approval for the published version.

The average annual time between the submission and approval of articles submitted to the RAE is 219 days, including the time in which authors incorporate improvements.

After approval, the definition of which issue to include the article is decided in editorial meetings. The RAE seeks to publish an article within at most six months after its approval.
